As Ben alluded to, I think many of us draw the line between third party pieces which are made to work directly with Lego and with the intention of enhancing the Lego hobby versus competitor brands (MegaBlocks, Kreo, etc.) which are rival businesses. I am fine with third party bricks but not OK with using a competitor.
