This post will be long but might interest somebody here:
I saw this ad on Craigslist yesterday, http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/tag/5326147889.html, and I noticed that the 10th photo showed a 10179 Millennium Falcon set in the box and shipping box! I thought that maybe this was too good to be true, but I sent an e-mail anyway.
“Do you really have a Lego set 10179 Millennium Falcon still sealed in the box?”
I got this reply:
“Hi, can you please call or text my mom? She will be the one meeting
xxx-xxx-xxxx”
So, I texted yesterday and got some back and forth going on today. The gist of it is that this lady has kids who posted on craigslist without her knowing because they wanted to get enough money for a PS4. Hmm, fishy. Oh, and they live in Cincinnati but posted on the Pittsburgh Craigslist. Very fishy.
Regardless, I sent an e-mail explaining how sought after that 10179 set is and how I would pay $1,000 for it but I’m coming from Pittsburgh so would want to meet somewhere in between. She then said “I know nothing about Lego. They got the Legos as a gift from there aunt. We’re not toy collectors so there not worth the “high dollars ” the toy collectors like to pay. The kids can call there aunt and pretty much get anything. So there not hard to come by for them. I’m not able to travel I have to work. I’m sorry.”
So, I suggested she put better photos and try to sell it in the Cincinnati Craigslist, but understood that she can’t meet to sell to me.
