Interesting idea! Never thought of a chain. I was thinking of the gearing within the center column. I also thought of some sort of gear drive from under the main platform, but I thought this would be very difficult. I could also try rigging up a shorter shaft direct to the top ring. Not sure if that will drive the weight though of the bottom and larger scale ride-ons.
