As was feverishly discussed in the Febrovery 2021 thread we will be building rovers for the Q1 build challenge! The only rule? It has to be a vehicle having some method of propulsion (thought I was going to say four wheels, weren’t ya?). Get rovin’!
My brain gets overwhelmed trying to discern what some of these parts are, where they came from and how they are put together. So I take a deep breath, zoom out, marvel at the design and retreat to the safety of playing with my doll houses.
WOW!! I think the month should be renamed from “Febrovery” to “Frostrovery”!!
So assuming it’s a foregone conclusion that first place is a lock for @tfdesigns, here’s my Mars Rover entry for second or third place consideration. Full disclosure, the basic rover is a LEGO Ideas set released in 2014 for the Curiosity Rover. This set is insanely expensive if you can find it ($425 new, $149 used), so I downloaded the instructions and parted it out, and was pleased to find that I already had 90% of the parts on hand.
I’ve modified it slightly to look like the Perseverance Rover that just landed in February, and added the Ingenuity drone helicopter.
