discord integration with wordpress

What problems are we trying to solve or features are we requesting?

I can set up https://www.steelcitylug.com/discord to point to our invite, so it’s easy to tell others.

I found a few plugins that may help integrate the 2:

1) notification – new members, threads, etc posting to discord

2) user integration – possibly able to do single sign on between the site and discord.

3) integration of discord to wordpress

From taking a Look at the List I would suggest the
WP Discord Invite plugin:
-This sounds like your typical invite plugin
The other one is Argus:
the reason I would suggest this is of all the
features available:
-Restrict profiles without member
verification.
-Blocks discord accounts that are not
verified.
-Synchronize both the guild roles in
Discord and the user roles in WordPress.
-Integrated with MemberPress and Ultimate
Member.
-Show pinned messages, chats from your
channel, and guild rules.

When we were talking about this at Q1, the intent was for new forum threads to send a notification to a Discord channel, to remind people to check the forums.

part testing a plugin, part bringing this back to life. I don’t know much about discord bots, but I created a channel for forum updates and configured a plugin with a webhook url for that channel…doubt it works, but maybe?

You need to get one or more roles by reacting to messages in the #react-for-roles channel, then you’ll be able to talk.
