Target and Walmart have been having flash sales also so keep your eyes open.
Walmart has had various clearance this last week. Hit or miss. VIDIYO cubes at $10, Friends 41430 $25, various Ninjago, various Minecraft. Most sets 50% off. Some 30%. Some 75%. Mostly picked over but if you want Sith figs there are many of the battles is in Monaca at $6 for a speeder and 4 figs. Good deal.

Usually means they slap a shipping sticker on the box directly and ship it out to you. Should be re-branded to “Frustration-Inducing” Packaging.
Target has the same deal, and if you have a RedCard, it will save you almost all of the taxes.

Yeah I just got the modular police station from Amazon (happy birthday to me), and they sent it that way, I’ve gotten stuff like that from Amazon before, and I’m not sure they necessarily give you any warning (although maybe I’ve just failed to notice), and I’m not sure if you can opt out of it (I’m paying for Prime, so it’s not like they’re saving me any money).
On one hand, the set box is large, and would have required an even larger box to ship in, which would have just gone straight into recycling and would’ve been a bit of a hassle to deal with. On the other hand, the actual set box – which they’re assuming you don’t want to save for whatever reason, I know some people sell them on BL – took some damage, including being softened up in spots cause it got rained on while it was sitting on my front step, and they also put extra packing tape around it, which can’t be removed without damaging the box, and also makes it look like the set was return and they had to tape it back up.
Also, for years lego.com has been shipping in plain brown cardboard boxes that explicitly say on them that the reason they’re so plain is because they don’t want to advertise what’s in them because the contents may be a surprise gift for a child in the house (even though I’ve always suspected that the real reason is that brightly-colored boxes are more expensive to produce), and yet my Amazon set – which was in fact sold to me by the official Lego store on Amazon, and not a third-party seller – arrived so that anybody could see it, including any children living in my house. And also everybody in the neighborhood, maybe they’re assuming that if you can afford to buy a set like that, you can afford to live somewhere where you’re not worried about people stealing stuff off your porch.
So yeah, ultimately I’m not a fan, and I’m definitely not gonna argue with Bacon’s ‘frustration-inducing’ label.

Do you have a link? That jpg is tiny and unreadable. I’m doing a search on Amazon, the best I’m finding is $5.99, which is still quite good, and better than the AFOL Day discount, but I’m gonna hold out here for $4.79 if it’s still an option.

Yes, you click the box for an added coupon. Seems like almost no limit.
Sorry about the JPG. Can’t see it on upload and iPhone’s last update does not show size of image anymore. Small, Medium, Large, and Original all have the same sizes so I just pick small and hope it works on our size limits.
AND….you can only buy 20 total. I tried buying 20 then 20 and it said I had the maximum quantity already.
Sweet, thanks for the heads up. Mine have been ordered. When the items were in my shopping cart, there was a weirdly-worded fine print thing that came up if you clicked on the coupon link, which implied (I thought) that the coupon could only be applied to one item in the order. But when I checked out, it definitely worked for all of them. Well, now I have a nice big baseplate order on the way, although I also have no Amazon Rewards Points left, after years of saving up.
