I should be able to take it with me on Friday load in. I can stop by Josh’s to pick it up when convenient for him.
It would be very much scaled down, of course. But I can come up with a layout in that foot print of 10×4.
@rcgrier3406 Just signed up officially. Forgot how quickly this one comes up!
I have snow covered tracks that could go around my area, but they’re only single RC track. Just an option.
Also, any preference on using the buildings with street or having the train(s) going around the park modules. (In case you wanted to mix things up this year.
It’s soooooo much faster! Only problem I’m having on mobile ios is the header/banner takes up half the page. Doesn’t look like a way to minimize.
I’m in favor of updating the host. Do we still share bandwidth with other sites? I think you mentioned that was part of the slowdown issue?
I didn’t know you knew how to build “normal” sized trains?!?
Liked, oh the site and IRL. Might need to build one of these!
We’re down for D&B again. Three of us again.
Has anyone seen Nate from the Internet’s upscale castle build yet? He’s 3d printing scaled up version of (I believe) Kings Castle 6080 at a ratio of 20:1.
Three attendees for me!
Congratulations @knb112 and @watchwmarcella!!!
Awesome!!!
Does that Snuggle Station remind anyone else of Severance?
“They’re not ready yet!!”
@greg I’m not sure what I’m doing at this point. Not sure if I’m going participate this time around so I would not plan on me at this time. Sorry!
@joshhall I have some of the curve MILS track sections and your wheat fields (and some other misc bits) at my house. If I don’t participate in H&G this year, I’ll need to get those over to you before load in day. Just a heads up.
Anyone want to build a winter section?
First of all, I love your winter town. Are you asking if anyone wants to collaborate or if you should bring your winter section at all?
Moving skaters would be a great thing to display! Personally, I’d be concerned about plastic parts wearing down from running for such a long time. If you have a “start” button and some sort of time limit for the power, that could save a lot of wear and ensure it’s only running when people are watching.
Collaborating with others. Maybe some winter scenes? My skating rink is MILS 48×48. It does run all day at shows now, no issues (anymore!) I have some other “park” modules too.
I don’t think they need to be MILS for anyone interested.
Anyone want to build a winter section? I’m thinking I might just bring the ice skaters and maybe other park section. Don’t think I’m going to bring the town this year (unless we need to fill space)
My digital attempt.
“That’s my parking space!!”

I can bring just the street and trolley and we have 6 more baseplates available for more displayers.
So if you’re interested and not seeing space available, it can be!!
Biggest obstacles for the trains are:
If U shaped layout, trains need big enough turn around, especially for the big ones. Standard trains, obviously much tighter is okay.
If looped layout, train bridge needs to be able to be lifted for access. Not everyone can (or wants) to crawl under to access the center. I know @playingwithechoes is hard at work as we speak on a new bridge build though.
Other item to consider is the tables themselves. We spend some time getting the lug tables as level as possible to avoid derailments, etc. We rely on the fold up tables for the display side. So if we’re combining, we need to take in to consideration how the trains might react to some unevenness if using the other tables. Or figure on spending more time getting them as level as the plastic tables can be.
I’m all in for the combined layout. If I can get some time in I’d love to try to map something out. I’d invite anyone else to do the same so we can share ideas and pre plan any issues ahead of time.
I’ll do 10 for it. That’s what it would run from the company minus the ridiculous international shipping lol.
I’m next town over from Josh (South Park). If you’re planning on attending an event or meeting I can get it then. Not in a rush.
I do still need one!! How much do you want for it?
Interested. Sending a PM. Was thinking red/green as well, but might do some other winter style since its been done.
That’s really cool @greg. I’d build one of those. Agree with Tom, not sure if by Fall Trolley though. Be neat to have for future shows.
Not sure of my status this year as I’m in the middle of a rebuild (as in I just started lol). But my new layout is 4 baseplates deep on their own, before train track going around.
Again, not sure I’ll be ready for this year anyway but wanted to give an idea that layout has evolved and doesn’t incorporate into the city as much, more standalone.
Both fall and Santa trolley uses lug tables.
Wasn’t sure if it was worth the haul out or not.
If it’s not a 2×2 round plate, it’s a 2×2 round tile with open stud.
