Walmart online has lego creative building box (10695) for $20.

It looks like that was too good to last. How did you find out about it?

Hey I just checked and it’s still there:

TRU has all Friends, Star Wars and Superheroes 20% off this week. NOT that the prices are crazy low, since they’re super inflated anyway, but things seem to be a dollar or 2 cheaper then msrp now. Some of the more expensive sets are worth looking into.

I know TRU is much better about matching prices, now. Will they price match AND give you the sale price?

No, it’s either take the sale price or take the price match price.

Really? Cause, I remember hearing stories this past weekend about how good you are at bullying the ToysRUs employees into doing your bidding. I’m a little disappointed that you can’t make this happen for us.

I’m a teacher, I’m good at making people do my bidding. Bwahahahahhahaha!! But in this situation I don’t think it’d happen. 😛

If you are an Amazon Prime member, they are having a huge sale on Wednesday (July 15th is Prime Day!) that is supposed to be better than Black Friday Sales. Not sure if Lego will be included, but I will keep my eyes open for deals.

There is a massive lego collection for sale on craigslist. No mention of price. Reasonable offers. Only things that are interesting are like haunted house, medieval market, farm stuff. A bunch of small sets. They are mostly broken down into parts.

Target (as some of you know) is clearing out LEGO stock. I also found that Walmart has some nice deals. From what I saw, the more expensive sets seemed to be marked down ~$15, sets in the $20 price range were marked down about $5 and $30 sets were marked down about ~$10.

Walmart has LEGO movie sets for 25% off ex. double decker couch, constructo mech and cloud cuckoo land. Target is hit or miss – their stores are not in sync with each other.

Subject: My LEGO collection for sale

                                            Message Body:
                                            Greetings,
This is James Mathis, and I’ve posted my lifetime LEGO(R) collection for sale.
The collection includes over 600 sets, greater than 125,000 pieces, and spans years from the mid-1970s to 2006. I’m asking $17.5k. This value is 33% less than the prices as compared to other sellers’ offerings of similar individual sets in the collection. I thought that members of LEGO Clubs might consider a group purchase to share the cost of this bulk assortment should members see anything of interest in my collection. Most all of the sets since the late 1970s include the original paper building instructions booklets which have been stored in folders in plastic file folder storage bins.

                                            https://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=jamathis

All sets have been absorbed into my collection that is in storage. I have no access to the collection. It is in storage on a pallet in Portland, Oregon while I live on Maui. Actually, some of it is in Maui, mostly my MOCs of trains and vehicles, which I am also including in this bulk lot for sale so as to increase the completeness of all sets as advertised. Thus, I am unable to verify any details of completeness, except to say that I have monitored the inventory carefully over the time of ownership and MOC building. The 95% complete is an estimate which I think is conservative. In fact, I think most sets will be found to be near complete, if not 100% complete, but unfortunately, I can’t verify this. I certainly wish I could. I also can’t separate any sets into their constituent builds. All sets have been assimilated into the collective which is generally sorted by element shape and category. There are a few bins of unsorted parts as I did not have time to sort them when I put the collection in storage in 2007 when I moved to Maui.

Here are a few pictures of the bulk assortment and the included MOCs:

                                            Aloha,
                                            James Mathis

This deal involves a buyer who purchased an item from me but somehow set up his PayPal payment so that it was “not eligible for seller protection.” I sent the package to the person and I sent PayPal the tracking number. PayPal sent me an email explaining that the buyer claims that they did not place the order and not only were they going to get to keep the set but that PayPal issued a $20 chargeback fee to me. WTF?

Lesson learned: don’t accept payments that indicate that they are not eligible for seller protection.

Pennsylvania has a Long Arm statue for just such situations (assuming the buyer is out of state). You can take the matter to small claims court to help clean the scum from the system.

Ouch. It’s tricky stuff, online transacting. Because it’s entirely possible that someone’s PayPal got hacked. Also entirely possible he’s just a shyster. Hopefully it wasn’t an expensive set… but yeah, might be worth fighting back. Or at least politely requesting that the (non)buyer send back your set, maybe even on your own dime if it’s worth it based on the cost of the set?
