Give me a few weeks. ChatGPT and I are figuring. It was going so well but now it’s barfing at me wanting to change where photos get added.
Confirmed it’s with me. I’d love to send it to anyone willing make use of it
That’s pretty new and rare. None here.

oh…I said replies…i just meant new topics holistically. sorry.
BOOM! I love it. works great from phones too. now anyone/everyone can upload pics for events, they’ll automatically be added to a gallery for that event, and we still have the manual step of adding the gallery to the ‘past events’ album as an approval step. there’s an audit log of who submitted what in the admin section (for admins only) and also a linker tool to link galleries to events. https://steelcitylug.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=lug_photo_submission&page=lug-envira-linker
actually, hold off on uploading anything, @rcgrier3406 – finalizing a new tool…so far it makes uploading SOOOOO much easier…just trying to get it to automatically create the gallery. as it is right now, you have to go into the gallery and select “add from other source” and select pics from the wordpress gallery)
http://steelcitylug.com/gup/ is the URL, but I’ll let you know when it has the full automation to test out.
I can delete and then reload the galleries for both South Park and Winter Trolley if that’s easier for you.
I take my words back…can you do upload winter trolley again? The database tables are out of sync now and I don’t want to go through and untangle the references…
Seems like shift sign-ups are dropping the decimal part when displaying shift values. Locomotion shows the half-day shifts as worth “0 cups”, but Bob said they’re 0.5 cups and that shows in the total of cups that will be earned anytime there’s an odd number of half-day sign-ups, so it seems like it’s just a display bug.
I’m gunna blame chatgpt for this one. I think it added (int) when I had it do the highlighting for shifts with no one signed up. I know when I need a float and when I don’t.
Things I did today (so far):
1) added a theme switcher at the top (to help when i get to migrating it – keep reporting what you think to be theme bugs (colors, text, layout, etc) here https://steelcitylug.com/forum/topic/new-theme-for-the-website/ )
2) made the ‘notify me of replies’ (aka subscribe to threads) checked by default
3) fixed user tagging
4) fixed the member map link
5) fixed the inventory imagesto do:
-gallery updates/migration missesnew user registration:
-make sure it works at all
-gets newsletter subscription
-gets welcome messageextras:
-rotating displays functionality-site theme
-layout designerI love doing the live build. It was almost unbearably cold last night since they cut the heat due to a propane smell…but as I told Louis, it builds character:)
I’ll get more pics to the gallery later today when I work on site updates.

looks like I didn’t move over this shift when I migrated. I fixed it now.
… later today.
I sit on a throne of lies, apparently.

I’ll post a parking pass and instructions when I get to a computer later today. Sounds like we have a few people coming to help, so I’d like to try the live build of 2026, bring the plates that Krista put together with build challenges, and maybe we can also suggest they try to build their own 2026 and put it on a table to display.
Getting swamped with a few things and need to cut out some ambitions, like a new site theme. I’ll get back to bug squashing in the new year for it. I realize new threads and recent replies need to be added back. I’ll get to it eventually. Just trying to keep my head above water for now.
Fixed the WordPress login, I think. It was a plugin I didn’t bring over.
tear down is this sunday, the 21st. plan is to try to take everything away from the museum and designate people to take stuff to locomotion. may the odds ever be in our favor.
@allen, how about now?
good question!
not so much a code thing (unless i look at ways to break up how files are uploaded) but more of a server capacity thing…
I did a test run – https://site84125-fe515w.scloudsite101.com/forum/topic/test-2/#post-67325
first batch of pics was ~25mb (+6mb each) which is huge. it did crap out on the last one. 4 of about 4MB worked quickly and flawlessly though.
please do kick the tires and recreate an upload you had in the past that barfed.
So on the current site, I login with my wordpress.com account (I don’t have a unique login to the current site). I don’t see that option on the login page of the new site. Is that a setting that needs changed, or did we lose that functionality?
interesting…should be fine, but I wonder if it’s because your account was synced with steelcitylug.com and not the new(tempoary) url. it should work once the cut over happens.
no more sharing. it’s our server.
good call out – template/theme/menu will certainly be updated as we go along https://www.steelcitylug.com/forum/topic/new-theme-for-the-website/
christmas present got unwrapped too early…elves are still tinkering…
Just a matter of staffing the display more and being viable to tear down then.
