I am not planning a Mosasaur on my end. There’s a nice set out there for that, so hopefully that’s already in someone’s collection. If I see it at a steep discount, I might pick it up, but I’m not expecting that to happen. On my end I am planning a Spinosaurus and a Quetzalcoatlus. The Spino is already well in progress. It will be apx. 2 feet long, about 9″ high and about 6″ wide at the hips. Hope to have 1st iteration done by Ross Park. Home and Garden at the latest. If I have time, I might build some terrain (riverbank) for it to stand on but I’m not expecting that to be a part of the Cranberry Display and it’ll likely just stand wherever there’s room. The Quetzal is just hypothetical at this point but I expect it to be about the size of the Black Dragon I did previously and it will be suspended on wires from above.

I imagine we’d want to add some lighting below it. There’s power in the case, so that should be doable. As far as who might build it. Not sure at this point, it was mentioned is all. I think first step is determining if that’s actually what we want to do because this isn’t something we’d be able to do last minute. Then we could look at how exactly we do it. I do know I don’t have enough Lego to provide the clading but I’m sure I can contribute to building the understructure as I have a table saw and once spring comes and I move my car back outside, I have space to store it. If we do build it, then no I don’t think it goes all the way across…well it might with the cladding at least from front to back to look right. Thus why I think we’d want lighting in there.

So I think the idea was to build an actual shelf to split the case into two levels. Cave with fossils under and “live” build above. What we could do is truncate that shelving so about 2 baseplates or so from the third window is on a lower level (but still on a bit of a riser). Then we’d have to build landscape “clading” to wrap the frame and riser. We’d then be able to build the cave under the shelf for fossiles to sit in. Waterscaping on that Riser and an above ground live section above the shelf. Question is who if any are doing builds that would require the underwater section. If not we can just do a full split and that would probably save on having to build a bunch of “Clading”. Still have to engineer that shelf though.

Savy asked me to do a Quetzalcoatlus for my flyer. So that’s going to likely be what I build for suspension. I imagine it’ll be roughly the size that my Black Dragon was. Savy also suggested the Mosasaurus but there is an existing brickbuilt set of that and it’ll require us to create an aquatic scene. So I’m not going to commit to that one for now. Figure if someone else wants to build out an Aquatic scene and if nobody wants to bring the brick built set then maybe I can pivot back to that but for now and am considering instead a Spinosaurus which can go either on land or water and thus can fit into whatever we decide to build terrain wise.

We forgot to hand off my Lego last night after trick or treating but Adam was for sure intending on going. Not sure if he ever got the table cloth or not. Said it might just be him with a couple tables worth of Lego sets.

Sounds good and no Bastion’s the guy that transforms from robot into gatling gun. The one you have is Wrecking Ball.

I think the big snake would have to wait for another year when I can attend. While the sections are relativly sturdy, if something breaks, it’s not going to be an easy fix.

I have groot and venomized groot for Marvel. Bastion from Overwatch, Galaga and the Tallneck if Video Games make the cut. Those are probably best for your theme that aren’t prone to breakage. You could also have chick a chick a boom boom. Kid’s book build. It’s prone to breakage but relativly simple build to fix when it does. Up to you.

I don’t think I can staff it but, if there’s something of mine you think would fit the bill for the show, I can also bring it to the Airport on the 11th.

23rd works for me as well. I had just talked to the ladies at the library and there’s didn’t seem to be any rush to get it out.

Yes. I have 3 butterflies done. Those I’ll install on either Thursday or Friday. Sierra plans to display her new build Peacock (from the 3&1) so I may set that in there but we can take it out as we install. Still on my to do list is to gather up the flowers. We have plenty that can work as is/with a vase, but if I get the chance I want to make a way to create a full half-sphere of floral color to act as a cap to your tower.

I will probably install the butterflies ahead of the main install thus removing one step for people to wait on, particularly if we are doing morning of the 31st. Depending on when install happens I may leave a vase of flowers in there as well. How big is the top of that white building? Just so I know how big we are talking. Although I may talk with Madison about modifying the flowers into an arrangement instead. …More stability and potentially more color.

Though based on the timing, that may not work. Meeting may start at 11 over in Monroeville and the Cranberry Library doesn’t open til 10. I doubt that timing is going to work out. We may need to look at a weeknight install. On my end I can always pre-load stuff and have you arrange the stuff(mainly the flowers) when you fill out the display.

Madison Brown has almost every single Botanical and would jump at the chance to put them on display. So it really comes down to how much space we are wanting to devote to them.

For reference. Both large windows fit about 5 32×32 baseplates. The small one fits 2. The middle can fit another ~3 with a bunch of 16 stud wide spaces filling the gaps. Anything yellow here are irregular gaps in increments smaller that 16 stud so use caution when planning for them. Keep in mind this is best of my ability based one the measurements I took and expect some small about of margin of error in the spacing. Mainly with regards to where regions 3 and 4 meet since there’s no buffer there.

Thus person A could say something like I’m building to fill the space in region 3 and I’m building to a depth of X from the window. That would let person B who claims area in region 4 or 6 to adjust the size they plan to claim to account for the already claimed space in region 3. Also doesn’t have to be 1 person per region or vice versa. Can claim half a region, or more than one region. If you are building high (let’s say in excess of 3′), please note roughly how high as that can affect suspended build placement.
